Signature Autism & ADHD Assessment
At the Possibilities Clinic, we understand that focus, attention, and social communication are at the heart of learning, relationships, and confidence. Sometimes ADHD and Autism can overlap, making it important to look at both together.
Our Signature ADHD & Autism Assessment is designed to provide you and your family with clear answers and compassionate guidance. Whether you’re seeking support for your child, teen, or yourself as an adult, our team works collaboratively to understand strengths, challenges, and next steps that will make a real difference.
Here are some questions we are often asked about our combined assessment, along with our answers.
ADHD and Autism can look similar in some ways but require different supports and strategies. By assessing both, we can identify overlapping features, highlight unique strengths, and create recommendations tailored to real-life needs. The goal is not just diagnosis—it’s to build a roadmap for learning, emotional well-being, and independence.
The Signature ADHD & Autism Assessment is for individuals aged 6 years and older, including children, teens, and adults. It is particularly helpful when ADHD and Autism are both being considered and a more comprehensive picture of focus, self-regulation, and social functioning is needed.
The process typically includes six appointments:
- Clinical Intake with a Physician: An initial medical and developmental history review
- Clinical Intake with a Psychologist/Psychological Associate: A detailed discussion about focus, self-regulation, and social communication
- Testing Sessions (2 appointments):
- One session focused on Autism, with measures like the ADOS for younger children or an interview-style measure, such as the MIGDAS, for older children, teens, and adults.
- One session focused on ADHD, including standardized measures of attention and executive functioning
- Feedback with a Psychologist/Psychological Associate: Review of results, insights, and recommendations
- Feedback with a Psychiatrist: Discussion of the overall findings, treatment planning, and—if ADHD is diagnosed—a conversation about medication options
Our assessments are comprehensive and collaborative. We gather information through interviews, standardized testing, and questionnaires from parents and teachers. We also review relevant documents you provide like report cards or previous assessments. Our Physicians, Psychologists/Psychological Associates, and Psychiatrists consult throughout the process so that findings and recommendations reflect the combined expertise of the team. This team approach ensures clarity and expertise for families and individuals navigating both ADHD and Autism.
This assessment combines two comprehensive assessments: our Signature ADHD & Mental Health Assessment and our Signature Autism Assessment . Physician appointments are covered by OHIP, but fees associated with questionnaires, tests, and the services of Allied Health Professionals like Psychologists and Psychological Associates are not. The cost of the combined assessment is $5000. This cost is billed under Psychological Services. Please check with your insurance provider to see if you will receive coverage.
After the feedback sessions, you’ll receive a written report that summarizes the findings, any diagnoses that were made, and personalized recommendations. This report can be shared by you with schools, workplaces, or other providers to help ensure consistent support moving forward. If ADHD has been diagnosed and you have chosen to pursue medication treatment, you will receive a Medication Treatment Plan that can be shared with a community provider.
You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss next steps with a member of our Navigation Team who can help guide you further about the services we offer. Specialized, strength-based treatments are available at Possibilities including ADHD Coaching, Applied Behavioural Analysis Coaching for Parents, Parent and Family Coaching, and Neuroaffirmative Leadership and Career Coaching.
No, you do not need a referral from a Physician or Nurse Practitioner to receive a Signature & ADHD Autism Assessment.
