Our Coaching Approach to Therapy
at Possibilities Clinic

Coaching is an innovative and structured program based on brain science and therapeutic principles. Coaching can help you get started on tasks, persist with grit, and get things done. Whether it’s finishing chores, tackling school assignments, completing work projects, or achieving big dreams, our coaches can help!

Research studies show that coaching is an effective therapy for building confidence and supporting follow-through on work and goals. Coaching helps clients tackle goals systematically by identifying concrete steps, estimating objectively how long steps are going to take, brainstorming strategies, and checking in regularly to see what worked and what didn’t. Coaching can help individuals move forward, bringing them closer to their goals and dreams.

All of our coaches are therapists who have licensure in different fields like psychotherapy, psychology, OT, certified teachers etc. So if there are mental health concerns like anxiety or depression, or challenges with confidence, esteem, or motivation, therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can be incorporated into the coaching work that targets executive functioning skills like getting tasks done. That’s why we highlight that Coaching and Therapy are available together.

Generally, here’s what you’ll do with your coach in our Coaching Program:

  • Identify 3 to 4 meaningful goals that you want to work towards
  • Identify smaller steps to be taken over a specific period of time—usually a week or two—to accomplish specific goals
  • Learn how to write small, easy-to-follow weekly goals or objectives
  • Explore organizational tools to help you stay on track with your goals
  • Use critical problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles that get in the way of your accomplishments
  • Identify effective strategies that can be applied to all areas of your life
