Looking for information but not sure where to start?
Choosing a school is one of the biggest decisions a family makes, and it often comes with more questions than answers.
That's why Tara Doherty, OCT, RP (Qualifying), our Director of Academic Services, and the team from Possibilities Clinic are excited to be attending the Our Kids Toronto Private School Expo.
Whether you're just starting to explore or already have a shortlist, we'd love for you to stop by, say hello and chat with us about what matters most for your child.
From Toronto and beyond, all under one roof.
The expo brings together more than 75 private schools from Toronto and beyond, all under one roof. You can meet admissions teams face to face and ask about application timelines.
The expo welcomes families at every stage, whether you're just curious about private school or already narrowing down a shortlist.
If you're thinking about a school change, you're likely holding a lot at once. Many of the parents we work with are asking themselves questions like these:
Is private school the right choice for my child, or could their needs be met where they are now?
Which schools can truly support how my child learns, including learning differences, attention or executive functioning challenges?
How do I know if a school's supports are real, or just words in a brochure?
Will my child feel like they belong? Will they find friends, clubs, teams and a place to connect?
What should I bring to the table? How do report cards or a psychoeducational assessment fit into the search?
What questions should I be asking admissions teams, and how do I compare what I hear?
How do I balance academics with my child's wellbeing, confidence and happiness?
These are big questions, and there's no one-size-fits-all answer. The good news is you don't have to work through them alone.
Representatives for Possibilities Clinic, including Tara, will be on site to chat about how we support students and families, and to introduce our School Match service.
At Possibilities, we offer a unique School Match service to help support your decision-making and your child's success. This program is available for students up to age 21.
MEET OUR DIRECTOR
This service is delivered by our Director of Academic Services, Tara Doherty, an Ontario Certified Teacher and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who has extensive experience in public and private education.
She'll help you find a match that considers learning skills and additional aspects of school life, like opportunities for social connectedness in clubs and teams, leadership, and athletic participation.
Meet Tara Doherty →Five thoughtful steps to help you make a more informed school decision.
We learn about your child's strengths, needs and your priorities, and you share up to three schools you're considering.
We review report cards, psychoeducational assessments and other supporting materials.
Our Director speaks directly with each school to ask the questions that matter for your child, such as learning support programs, dyslexia services, sports and clubs.
We look closely at how each school's programs match your child's needs.
We share our findings and recommendations. The final decision is always yours.
With more than 75 private schools in one room, the expo can feel like a lot to take in. School Match helps you make sense of what you heard and find the right fit.
We'd love to meet you at Roy Thomson Hall on October 24. Bring your questions, big or small, and come chat with Tara and our team about your child's needs and how School Match can help.
Can't make it to the expo? No referral is needed. Learn more about School Match, or call us at 1-833-482-5558.
