Why Now?
Sleep and ADHD are deeply connected. When sleep slips, focus, mood, and daily functioning are all affected. This service exists to support you — awake and asleep.
A racing mind and “second wind” at bedtime are common with ADHD. An initial CBT-I session gets you ready to re-train your brain and body for sleep.
Many adults with ADHD run on a delayed sleep schedule that clashes with school and work. We help reset your rhythm.
Poor sleep mimics and magnifies inattention. Better sleep can sharpen focus more than you'd expect.
Stimulant timing can disrupt sleep, and poor sleep can change how medication works. Or team reviews the full picture.
Insomnia, sleep apnea, and restless legs hide behind ADHD symptoms. Experts on our team screen for comorbidities.
Apps, supplements, and sleep hygiene can only go so far. We’ll introduce you to CBT-I, a clinically proven first-line treatment for insomnia.
Who This Is For
This is a focused sleep service for individuals who have completed an ADHD assessment — so we can build on what we already know and go straight to optimizing your sleep.
If you've been through our ADHD Direct or ADHD Direct Update Assessment, you're ready to add a focused sleep analysis to your care.
Clients who've had our Signature ADHD & Mental Health Assessment or Signature Update Assessment can layer sleep optimization on top.
Why Possibilities Clinic

Your Journey
A clear, structured path from intake to better sleep — guided by your Nurse Practitioner, CBT-I clinician, and sleep-specialist MD.
A Nurse Practitioner reviews your health, ADHD medication & sleep patterns.
A CBT-I trained clinician explores how ADHD, lifestyle & routines affect your sleep.
A sleep-specialist MD reviews your screen & rules out underlying sleep disorders.
The sleep-specialist MD reviews findings post sleep study (if needed) and outlines evidence-based treatment plan.
A CBT-I trained clinician introduces an evidence-based sleep therapy treatment.
The Nurse Practitioner discusses a tailored plan based on the team’s findings.
If a lab test or sleep study is ordered, the MD reviews the results with you in an additional session before you meet the CBT-I therapist and NP.
Your NP incorporates the lab findings into your plan, so your sleep stays on track.
The Possibilities Difference
A Nurse Practitioner, a CBT-I clinician, and a sleep-specialist MD work together so your medical, behavioural, and ADHD needs are all considered.
We understand how ADHD and stimulant medication shape sleep. Your plan is built around the way your brain and body actually work.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia is the clinically recommended first-line treatment for chronic sleep problems. You’ll receive an introductory session from a trained clinician, not an app.
The sleep-specialist MD consultations are covered by OHIP for eligible Ontario residents, keeping your out-of-pocket cost predictable.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Sleep Optimization Service includes appointments with various clinicians with expertise in sleep. You’ll attend 2 sessions with a Nurse Practitioner—at the very beginning to start the process and at the end to create a treatment plan. You’ll also meet a Registered Psychotherapist/CBT-I trained clinician for 2 sessions—an initial appointment will cover ADHD symptomatology and psychosocial factors potentially affecting sleep, and a second appointment will cover an introductory session of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). You’ll also attend a medical consultation appointment with a physician. If the MD orders lab tests or a sleep study—necessary for some clients—you will meet with the physician a second time to discuss the findings of these added investigations.
CBT-I stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia. It is a structured, evidence-based therapy that addresses the thoughts and behaviours that keep sleep problems going. It is widely recommended as the first-line treatment for chronic insomnia — often before, or alongside, medication.

The MD sleep-specialist consultations are covered by OHIP for Ontario residents with a valid health card. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Registered Psychotherapist/CBT-I clinician components are delivered privately and make up the $700 service fee. Many private insurance plans reimburse part or all of these fees, so we recommend confirming the specifics with your own provider before booking. You can find information about funding options here.
No, not necessarily. Many sleep concerns can be addressed from information gathered in the Clinical Intake session, the MD consultation, and the introductory session of CBT-I. If the doctor identifies signs of an underlying sleep disorder such as sleep apnea, a lab test and/or sleep study may be recommended. After this information is ordered and the results received, the MD will meet with you for an additional consultation session to review the findings. This additional information will be incorporated into your treatment plan.
This Sleep Optimization Service is available to adults aged 18 and older.
Yes. Stimulant medication and its timing can significantly affect sleep. Your Nurse Practitioner (NP) and the sleep-specialist MD will consider your current medication as part of the sleep screen and treatment plan, in coordination with your existing ADHD care.
Yes, CBT-I sessions with our Registered Psychotherapist/CBIT-I clinician can be added at a cost of $200 per session if you wish to pursue this therapy further, after your introductory session. CBT-I is typically considered to be a short-term therapy with weekly sessions over 6 to 8 weeks, though the duration of therapy can differ across clients depending on needs.
Yes. Clinical interviews, the MD consultation, treatment planning, and the introductory CBT-I sessions are delivered over secure video. As long as you are physically located in Ontario and have a computer and reliable high-speed internet, you can complete the process from the comfort of your home. Any lab test or sleep study, if ordered by the MD, would require a visit to a clinic outside of your home.
