This program uses the SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) approach – an evidence-based method shown to be as effective as one-on-one therapy in reducing anxiety. By learning to break the cycle of accommodation, parents can help their children face fears with confidence, without reinforcing avoidance behaviours.
What You’ll Learn:
- Week 1 – 2: Understand anxiety and how to communicate supportive statements to your child.
- Week 3 – 4: Identify and stop patterns of avoidance, and create actionable plans with key supporters.
- Week 5 – 6: Develop a plan for confronting fears and implement strategies consistently.
- Week 7 – 8: Learn exposure techniques and coach your child through anxiety-provoking situations.
Benefits of the Program:
- Gain a deeper understanding of childhood anxiety and its causes.
- Learn evidence-based strategies to reduce anxiety and build resilience.
- Leave with long-lasting tools to support your child’s emotional health.
