Moira Pena
BScOT, MOT, OT Reg. (Ont.)

Senior Occupational Therapist

Moira is an occupational therapist with more than 25 years of experience working with Autistic and otherwise neurodivergent children, youth, adults, and their families. She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s in Occupational Therapy and is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She has spent most of her career at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, working clinically and in leadership roles developing autism and sensory-processing programs, and is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto and a Certified Solution-Focused Healthcare Facilitator and Coach.

Moira’s approach is neurodivergent-affirming, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. She works collaboratively with clients and families to understand what’s getting in the way of participating in everyday activities — from self-care and school to work and leisure — and to find practical strategies that support that participation, whether by building skills, adapting the environment, or helping others better understand the person’s needs. Her goal is for clients to feel understood rather than judged, and confident in advocating for what they need.

Moira works with neurodivergent children, teens, and adults, as well as parents of neurodivergent children. She speaks English and Spanish. Outside the clinic, Moira is a mom of two teenagers, which keeps her busy, and loves long walks with her dog, Messi. Fun fact: she runs workshops for healthcare professionals on building neurodivergent-affirming practices.
