More Possibilities: Tic Disorder Assessment and Treatment Now Extended to Adults

We are thrilled to announce that psychiatrist Dr. Paul Sandor has joined our Possibilities Team! Dr. Sandor brings tremendous clinical experience, knowledge, and expertise in Tourette Syndrome (TS) and Tic Disorders to our clinic. Dr. Sandor will provide Tic Disorder Diagnostic Assessment and Consultation appointments to adult clients. He joins psychiatrist, Dr. Michelle Pearce, who provides these services to children and teens. Dr. Sandor and Dr. Pearce are experts who are highly respected in the field of Tic Disorders and Tourette Syndrome. Dr. Sandor will begin seeing adult clients in November 2022. Physician sessions offered for diagnosis and consultation around Tic Disorders and Tourette Syndrome are fully OHIP covered. A referral from a physician is required.

Allied health professionals, including psychologists, will also extend our treatment services for tics through adulthood. We offer Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) to children, adolescents, and adults. CBIT is a drug-free intervention that helps individuals with Tic Disorders, like Tourette Syndrome, learn to manage and decrease tics. This therapy has strong scientific support and is recommended as first-line treatment for helping individuals take charge. Please note that CBIT is offered by non-physicians, and is not covered by OHIP. More information about Tic Disorders, including Tourette Syndrome, and CBIT can be found on our website.
