Lerna Hanceroglu received a Master’s in Child Clinical Psychology and is currently working towards her Ph.D. in Clinical Child Psychology at the University of Windsor. She received a Master’s in Developmental Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University, where her thesis focused on investigating the effectiveness of a school-based mindfulness program for children. For her dissertation study, Lerna is currently investigating the relationship between parenting behaviours and characteristics on children’s emotion regulation. Lerna has experience providing psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), although she is interested in a person-centered approach that aims to integrate a variety of different therapy modalities to tailor treatments to individual needs. Lerna’s clinical interests include the psychological treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, as well as parent-child relationships and parent management/training. Lerna has gained experience in a variety of practicum settings, including private practice, community mental health agencies, and an outpatient hospital, in various cities, including Toronto, Windsor, and Detroit. Outside of her studies, Lerna enjoys travelling and trying new restaurants.
