Michael Dougan (he/his/him) is a Registered Psychotherapy with two master’s degrees, one in counselling psychology from the University of Toronto and one in applied psychology from Adler University. He has 15 years of combined experience in education and mental health care. Most of Michael’s professional experiences in education and mental health have been in post-secondary settings. He also has extensive clinical experience in community mental health care and private practice. Michael strongly believes in the therapeutic relationship’s importance and finding someone with whom you have a good fit. He brings a warm, compassionate, and playful presence to his work and draws from holistic, collaborative, and strengths-based frameworks to support that kind of presence. Michael is an integrative therapist who incorporates ACT, compassion-focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy into his work. He provides individual counselling, therapy, or coaching to folks 15 years old and older. Outside of work, Michael enjoys getting lost in a good book, cooking, and travelling when he can.
