GWENDOLEN BLACKBURN
B.A., Hon. CDA
Communicative Disorders Assistant
Gwen has over 20 years of experience working with clients of all ages. After completing a diploma in Early Childhood Education, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, minoring in Linguistics. This is when her true passion came to be—when she realized that she wanted to help children overcome their speech and language needs. Gwen went on to complete her certificate in Communicative Disorders at Georgian College and has been loving making a difference in her clients’ lives ever since! Gwen is a member of OSLA (Ontario Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists) and has furthered her training through professional workshops that pertain to sign language, aphasia, tactile therapy techniques in autism, and communication tools for young children. Her clinical approach can be summed up this way: make therapy fun with games, crafts, toys, books, and conversation to help clients reach goals, experience success, raise esteem, and boost striving with greater confidence for even more success going forward!
